ReStore

The Habitat for Humanity ReStores are retail outlets for new and gently-used building supplies, which are donated by generous individuals, corporations and contractors. They are open to the public and general contractors to purchase items, such as building supplies, carpet, appliances and furniture, at significant discounts, often 30 to 70 percent below average retail prices. Funds from ReStore sales are put back into building more Habitat homes throughout St. Joseph County and fulfilling the Habitat mission of providing simple, decent and affordable homes for hard-working, low-income families in our community.

Our goals are to:

Generate cash flow to support Habitat's home building program

Keep valuable materials out of local area landfills

Provide the community with a reliable source of low-cost building supplies

How the ReStores work:
The ReStores accept donations of new and gently used building supplies, which are donated by generous individuals, business and contractors. Those materials are then sold to the public at 50 to 75 percent off the retail price, and proceeds from the ReStores go toward building more Habitat homes in St. Joseph County.

Benefits of a ReStore:

Local businesses and other organizations may donate excess building materials that would normally be discarded.

Customers can buy materials to improve their homes at low costs, which increases their standard of living.

All ReStore profits stay in St. Joseph County and go toward supporting our home building program.

Contractors, landlords, and do-it-yourselfers have an great way to reduce their property improvement costs.

Habitat families have another low-cost option for items needed in the upkeep of their homes.

The Habitat ReStores rely on the support of many individuals, businesses and donors to make them successful. You can:

Donate new or gently used building materials. All donations are tax deductible.

Volunteer at the ReStore. Just a few hours a week can make a big difference.
